UCL launches investigation into Nazi-linked eugenics conference

UCL has responded to London Student’s investigation into the white supremacist-linked London Conference on Intelligence, which has taken place at the university annually since 2014.

The statement says that UCL are “investigating a potential breach of its room bookings process,” and will be “seeking an explanation” from honorary senior lecturer James Thompson, who organised the conference.

The potential breach of procedure appears to be that UCL were not informed of who was attending and what topics were to be discussed, despite the conferences being “booked and paid for as an external event”.

The investigation will determine how UCL allowed a eugenics conference dominated by white supremacists, many of them well-known, to go ahead on its central London campus four years in a row.

The London Student investigation also raises questions about whether UCL were aware of the views of James Thompson, who has represented UCL on BBC News, given his active Twitter account and public blog on the Unz Review.
